The government must establish a special court to hear the perpetrators of those who were involved in the Easter Sunday attacks, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said.
Addressing a press briefing yesterday, MP Jayasekara said that the Education Ministry must implement a system to monitor Arabic Schools / Madrasas which are currently operating in the country.
He also pointed out that the government must closely monitor the operations of these educational institutions and the syllabus which is being followed in the same.
The SLFP General Secretary also took issue with the manner in which Muslim Religious Affairs Minister Abdul Haleem had granted permission to establish nearly 50 Thowheed Jamath mosques in the Kandy District alone.
"There must be atleast 40 people to conduct the Friday Jummah congregational prayers. However, only about 10 devotees attend these mosques on Fridays," Mr. Jayasekara said.
He also called on the government to establish a common Religious Affairs Ministry instead of having one ministry each for the different faiths.
