The Public Services Commission has decided to interdict Solicitor General Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe with immediate effect and suspended her services at the Attorney General (AG)'s Department.
The AG's Co-ordinating Secretary State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said that this decision had been conveyed to the AG's Department by the PSC Secretary today (Sept 24).
Controversy surrounded Ms. Wickremesinghe after a telephone call between her and Avant Garde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi had been leaked to the media.
In the recording the Solicitor General had regretted taking legal action against a floating armoury owned by Mr. Sendhipathi's company - a case which had been dismissed recently by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
However, Ms. Wickremesinghe, had taken to her Facebook page and urged Mr. Senadhipathi to release the full recording of the call, claiming that the leaked audio had been doctored.
