The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has said that it would provide compensation for houses which have been damaged as a result of the inclement weather in the country.
According to the DMC, 150 houses have suffered damages in Vavuniya so far while the figures in Colombo and Monaragala stood at 112 and 18 respectively.
Meanwhile, the disaster management body also advised the people to take precaution during the next few days since wind speeds may clock upto 80 kmph during the evenings.
The country is experiencing heavy rainfall due to the South-West Monsoon, the Meteorological Department said.
