Media outlets have been advised to refrain from revealing the results of the presidential election before it is officially released by the Election Commission (EC).
A senior EC official said that these instructions had been issued during a meeting with representatives of electronic media outlets today (Oct 25).
During the meeting, media outlets had also been advised against publishing photographs of uncertified results sheets from counting centers.
Meanwhile, the EC, in a separate meeting with district secretaries, had instructed to obtain the services of the police and the tri-force, to assist people in voting in the event of any unexpected disruptions due to the inclement weather.
