The Election Commission (EC) has issued media guidelines to be followed during the 'Silent Period' for election campaigning after midnight tomorrow (Nov 13).
A 'Silent Period' is to be declared 48 hours prior to the election which will be held on November 16.
According to the gazette, any political party or presidential candidate cannot be promoted by means of propoganda or advertisement during this period.
Television and print media reports of political rallies which will be held tomorrow can be published until Thursday.
Meanwhile, the EC says it will implement special security measures to ensure the security of cardboard boxes which will be introduced at this year's election.
This would include a special security tape to prevent tampering and also the printing of a number inside ballot boxes to distinguish electorates.
A senior EC official noted that counting officers would not be appointed to count votes of their electorates.
