The Election Commission (EC) has warned police, and tri-forces personnel, against capturing photographs, or videos inside voting centres on the day of the presidential election.
A senior EC official said personnel were advised to refrain from publicly making remarks in favour of a presidential candidate.
The polls body has also warned against the misuse of state assets on the day of the election.
Meanwhile, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said that being a part of a gathering located within a 500-metre radius of a voting centre will be considered as an offence.
He said that 38 individuals including a police sergeant, a former Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) member, and a current PS member, have been arrested so far over complaints of poll law violations, and violence.
