An eight-year-old boy died after being crushed by a wall that collapsed at his home in Thondoman Nagar, Kilinochchi today, police said. The incident happened early afternoon today at his residence as one of the walls in the temporary house collapsed on him while having a meal.
The victim was identified as eight year old Niroyan Rushanthan. He was pronounced dead when he was admitted to Kilinochchi hospital by family members and neighbors.
Preliminary investigations by police revealed that the temporary wall collapsed due to poor construction of the house complex as the region saw heavy rains in recent days. Further investigations on the incident are underway.
