Preparations for conduct of the Thursday’s Presidential elections got underway today, officials of Election Department said. Election Department Officials said that ballot boxes were being sent out to polling centers. The officials said Polling Stations Island wide will receive the ballot boxes by Tomorrow. Over 65 000 policemen have been deployed from today. "We would be monitoring the election by deploying mobile police squads to polling centers and counting centers", Police said.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
