Election related complaints rise to 42
Police Headquarters states that there have been 42 election related complaints since December 9 up until 6.00am today (28).
Thirteen of the complaints relate to election law violations while 29 were election complaints. The complaints relate to incidents of assault, possession of propaganda posters, pasting posters illegally, levelling threats and abuse, distributing goods, hurling rocks and causing damage to houses and causing damage to cutouts.
Police have so far arrested 34 suspects in connection with these complaints. Action has been taken to produce them before courts in their respective areas and legal proceedings initiated against the suspects, Police added.
