Electricity supply has been temporarily cut-off to the Galle and Matara districts where flooding has affected more than 5500 people, Ceylon Electricty Board (CEB) Director Sulakshana Jayawardena said.
Mr. Jayawardena noted that power cuts could occur in certain parts of the country since the inclement weather has resulted in damages caused to power lines and conductors.
He further said that steps are being taken to cut-off power supply to areas which have been affected by floods.
The CEB Director observed that power supply had been temporarily cut-off to certain areas in the South including the Ambalangoda, Seenigoda, Thalagaswila, Gonapinuwala, and Induruwa areas yesterday (Sept 23).
