The examination of witness statements in the case filed against former President's chief-of-staff Gamini Senarath and three others concluded at the Special High Court today (May 15).
Mr. Senerath who has been named as a respondent along with Piyadasa Kudabalage - former Executive Director of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) and Lasantha Bandara, delivered dock statements during today's court hearing.
Accordingly, the three-member judge bench of Justices Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne, and Champa Janaki Rajaratne announced that the oral submissions of the accused and the defendants will take place on May 23.
The Attorney General had filed a misappropriation case against the defendants under the Public Property Act for allegedly misappropriating Rs 500 million funds belonging to Litro Gas Lanka.
They have been accused of committing the fraud between February 01, 2014 and January 20, 2015.
