Last night a fire broke out in the cafeteria of the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital completely gutting the cafeteria, local media reported. The fire erupted at about 11pm in the night. While residents and the Galle Fire Brigade brought the fire under control, they were unable to save the cafeteria, which remains in ruins. Police believe that it was caused by an electric short circuit.
