The first COVID-19 patient to have completely recovered while undergoing treatment at the Iranawila Treatment Centre for COVID-19 patients left the centre today (27).
The patient who was discharged after being doctors determined he was completely free of the disease is a 27-year-old resident of Suduwella, Ja Ela.
The individual was transferred to the centre on April 12 from the Oluvil Quarantine Centre.
Twenty-one patients are undergoing treatment at the centre and it was one of these who was discharged today.
Though the patient was discharged, doctors said he must undergo a further 14-day period of self-isolation at home.
