Sri Lanka’s first state-run FMCG Loyalty Card will be launched tomorrow (Nov 8), the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said in a statement.
Retail supermarket chain Lanka Sathosa Ltd (LSL) is embarking on an initiative to expand its customer base while meeting local competition, the statement said.
The Ministry aims to launch the “Abhimana” loyalty card where LSL customers who become cardholders could use the card in any branch and avail themselves of benefits including discounts.
“The “Abhimana” card is Sri Lanka’s first-ever government-owned Consumer Loyalty Card in FMCG sector, ” Minister Rishad Bathiudeen was quoted as saying.
A nominal subscription fee is to be levied when the Abhimana Card is first issued to the consumer while the card will be free of charge to pensioners, government employees, and military personnel.
