Fishermen, who had been affected due to a fire at the Kalametiya Fishing Harbour in Tangalle this year, are to be compensated by the government.
The Fisheries Ministry, in a cabinet paper, proposed to supply boats, engines, and fishing gear for those who had been affected due to the fire which erupted in June.
Cabinet approval for the project had been granted this week.
