Five suspects including a Mongolian national were arrested in Meegamuwa over the theft of three gems valued at Rs 6.5 million.
The suspects were arrested for stealing the gems from a tourist hotel in Kalutara.
According to the police a gem business is reported to have been operating at the hotel.
The suspects are due to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrates Court today (Mar 12).
