President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the recommendations of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army has promoted five Senior Brigadiers to the rank of Major General, effective from May 22, the Army said.
The list of promoted five Senior Brigadiers as follows;
Brigadier A.N Amarasekara USP ndu
Brigadier N.L.K Samarasingha IG
Brigadier T.D Weerakoon RWP RSP USP
Brigadier I.H.M.N.N Herath RWP RSP psc
Brigadier T.S Sallay RWP RSP USP psc
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
