Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake granted DIG Nalaka Silva permission to visit his daughter who has been hospitalised at the Meegamuwa hospital due to an illness. Accordingly he ordered prison officials to escort Nalaka Silva to the hospital to visit his daughter.
The order was issued when the case was taken up before the Colombo Fort Magistrates Court today (Dec 19).
Attorney Ajith Pathirana representing the accused had said that Mr. Silva's daughter had been hospitalised since she was suffering from dengue.
Fort Magistrate Dissanayake also ordered the Fomer DIG to be remanded until the conclusion of hearings on the case.
