The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested former Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) D.W.C. Dharmaratne over the death of a 29-year-old person at Embilipitiya, the police said.
He is currently being questioned by the CID on death of a youth following a clash with police.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
