Former Laksala Chairman to file objections over corruption case

News

The lawyer representing former Laksala Chairman Anil Koswatte and three others told the Chief Magistrate's court that preliminary objections would be filed over a case against them.

Mr. Koswatte and the other accused persons are alleged to have engaged in a fraudulent deal while awarding a private construction company the tender to construct a Laksala store in the Colombo Museum.

The Bribery Commission filed corruption charges against former Sri Lanka Handicraft Board (LAKSALA) Chairman Anil Koswatte and three others over the case.

They are accused of violating procurement procedures while awarding the contract in October 2011.
