Former Navy intelligence officer Lieutenant Commander Sampath Dayananda has been further remanded until April 04 over the abduction of two youths in 2009.
The order was issued when the suspect was produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrates Court today (Mar 21).
Mr. Dayananda has been charged for the abduction of two youths identified as V.P. Logananthan and Rathnasami Paramanandan on their way to Wellawatte. The two youths were residents of Kotahena.
Meanwhile, another Navy intelligence officer, Lieutenant Commander Dammika Amila Mapa who was also arrested in connection with the abductions has been released on bail.
