The Foundation For Peoples' Rights Protection will file a complaint this afternoon at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over the recent controversial remarks made by Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando.
The Defence Secretary while responding to international media yesterday admitted that the government was aware of a terrorist group in the country. However, he added that they did not expect explosions to occur on such a large scale.
Accordingly, the Foundation for People Rights Protection will file a complaint against Secretary Fernando for not acting to prevent such attacks despite being in charge of the country's defence apparatus.
The Foundation also claims that the remarks made by Mr. Fernando would have a negative impact on the country's tourist industry.
