Four individuals including three foreigners have been killed in an accident along the Southern Expressway in the Kurundugaha Hethekma area last night.
The accident had occured when a van heading towards Colombo from Galle had collided on the back of a container travelling in the same direction.
Among the deceased persons were a 44-year old mother, her 18-year old son, and a relative of their family. Three other family members and the van driver sustained injuries.
The injured persons included the deceased woman's husband and her 10-year old daughter. They are currently receiving treatment at the Karapitya Teaching Hospital.
