Four Sri Lankans who were arrested on April 11 at the Luton Airport, UK over a terrorism investigation were released last Friday, the Metropolitan Police said in a special statement.
The suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of membership of a proscribed organisation under the UK Terrorism Act of 2000.
British media reported that the men who had arrived on April 10 had attempted to claim asylum upon arrival in UK by claiming that they were facing persecution in Sri Lanka over "connections" to the outlawed Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eeelam (LTTE)
