President Maithripala Sirisena has said that free visas will be issued for tourists and pilgrims travelling to Sri Lanka from April onwards.
He made these remarks while addressing an event at the International Cambodian Buddhist Centre in Kaduwela yesterday (Mar 10).
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sirisena noted that Theravada Buddhism has helped Sri Lanka and Cambodia to maintain strong ties.
The President added that Sri Lanka - which is considered as a country that propogates Theravada Buddhism, would take measures to develop strong links with other countries which practice Buddhism.
