The Government Analyst's Department today (Sept 19) said it had conducted a voice test on alleged underworld criminal 'Kanjipaani Imran' who has been accused of threatening a police officer.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate's court had issued orders to conduct the voice test on the accused who has been remanded under the Prevention of Terrorism Act at the Boossa prison.
Accordingly, the results of the test would be sent to court in due course, a spokesman for the department said.
M.N. Mohamed Imran alias 'Kanjipaani Imran' is alleged to have threatened a police officer-in-charge over a phone call demanding the release of a suspect who had been arrested over a narcotic offence.
The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) branch of the police, has submitted a recording of the telephone conversation to court.
