The government should fulfill its promises made during the UNHRC sessions in Geneva, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP M A Sumanthiran said.
This remark was made during the Committee Stage Debate of the third reading of the budget in Parliament yesterday (Mar 13).
Mr. Sumanthiran, during his speech also claimed that he was not hopeful of justice being delivered to war victims. He made this claim while commenting on the involvement of former Navy Commander Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda in the case pertaining to the abduction of 11 youths in 2008/09.
Accordingly, the TNA MP opined that foreign judges should intervene and ensure that justice prevails over these incidents.
