Govt. to build 1122 permanent houses for flood victims

The Government is to construct 1122 houses for families whose houses were completely destroyed due to the floods that ravaged the island earlier this year. 

The houses will be built at secure locations in five districts where families whose houses were destroyed are from. 

A proposal made in this regard by Minister of Disaster Management Anura Priyadarshana Yapa has been approved by Cabinet.  

The Proposal made by Disaster Management Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa to construct 1122 houses for families to be resettled, whose houses were completely damaged, in 05 districts due to floods in 2017, was approved by the Cabinet Ministers.
