The Health Ministry is expected to issue a gazette notification this month imposing a ceiling price on 37 pharmaceutical drugs.
A Maximum Retail Price (MRP) will be imposed on the prices of drugs for heart, kidney, cancer, liver, diseases and even diabetes, Health Minister (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne said.
He noted that directives have already been issued to the State Pharmaceutical Corporation to impose and adhere to the ceiling prices after a gazette is issued to this effect.
