The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) instructed common public to be aware of some mischief makers who made representations to the police fraudulently posing as officers of HRCSL, the national independent body said while noting that they have been wearing IDs with official insignia. "The Commission is deeply concerned as there have been similar incidents in the past that have had to be referred to the authorities for investigation,"
If any official or a member of the public has reason to doubt whether a person is genuinely representing the national Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, please call ur hotline (1996) to verify," Acting Secretary to the HRCSL said in a statement.
