The Immigration Department has decided to launch a mobile app for foreigners to help keep track of their location during their holidays with directions to the nearest police station if assistance is required.
Users of the app will have access to a list of important telephone numbers to use in the case of an emergency, the Immigration Department said.
The app comes as a part of the government's efforts to ensure the safety of foreign tourists as the island grapples to boost its toursim industry which has remained tanked since the Easter Sunday bombings.
