Relatives who lost their loved ones in the last year Easter Sunday suicide bomb attack in Zion church, Batticaloa gathered today to remember them marking first year anniversaary of the terror attack that shook the nation with similar attacks in two other churches and hotels.
At the Zion Church, 31 persons including 14 children were killed in the suicide bomb attack while another 85 injured badly.
As travel restrictions are imposed across the island due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, relatives of the victims gathered at the church today with flowers to remember their loved ones as the church is still under construction after the attack. Special police security was provided around the church premises ahead of the Easter Sunday prayers.
