Twenty spill gates of the Thabbowa Reservoir in Puttalam were opened yesterday (May 25) due to heavy rainfall, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said.
Accordingly the sluice gates of the Thabbowa Reservoir are currently releasing 5,750 cubic feet of water per minute to the Mee Oya. The Disaster Management Center (DMC) advises those living downstream to be vigilant in this ragard.
