Eight persons including a woman who was detained for allegedly harbouring Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) activities in Kilinochchi were released by the Colombo Additional Magistrate courts today.
Jeyakumary Balendaran was held in detention for nearly one year under Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).
She was granted a personal bail of Rs.200,000 and court instructed her to sign in at the closest Police Station every month. All of their passports were also impounded too.
Earlier she was arrested on March 13 last year on suspicion of harbouring former rebel cadres at her home in Kilinochchi.
" I'm very grateful for every one who have stood for my release. I am happy to able to live with my daughter again," she said after granted bail.
