Certain mothers who had undergone cesarean surgeries performed by Dr Z.S.Mohamed Safi, have inquired from the Kurunegla Teaching hospital whether a test could be carried out regarding their procedures.
Accordingly, these mothers have been provided a date on which they could undergo the relevant tests to determine whether they have been allegedly 'sterilized', a hospital spokesman noted.
Meanwhile, it is reported that two mothers have lodged complaints at the hospital claiming that they could not conceive after they underwent a cesarean surgery performed by the doctor in question.
Dr. Mohamed Safi, who has been accused recently of sterilising women during cesarean surgeries, was arrested this week for accumulating assets in a suspicious manner.
He is currently under the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
