A Sri Lankan fisherman from Valvetithurai, Jaffna was taken into custody by Indian officials after his boat drifted towards Naluvedapathy, Tamil Nadu due to bad weather condition, an official at the Fisheries Department said.
The Lankan fisherman told the Indian authorities that his boat drifted towards Indian waters owing to strong winds and currents. The fisherman is identified as 23 year old S. Viyajamoorthy from Valvettithurai. (NL)
