The Lawyers for Democracy (LfD) in a media release urged law enforcement agencies to investigate the alleged illicit transactions that have taken place to win the no-confidence motion on behalf of Prime Minister Rajapaksa.
The release also noted that the prorogation of Parliament has created space for illegal and undemocratic practices such as the buying of MPs.
The LfD therefore urges the Director General, and the Commission to Investigate Bribery and Corruption, and all law enforcement agencies to take swift measures in this regard.
