Liquor shops in the Central Province temporarily closed from today
All liquor shops in the Central Province will be temporarily closed with effect from today (May 14), the Excise Department said.
According to an Excise official in Hatton, the order to close down shops was issued by Central Province Governor Maithree Gunaratne.
In line with these directives, steps were taken to close down all liquor shops in the area at around 2 pm.
These shops will be closed until further notice.
