A lorry transporting 25, 000 kilograms of tea had overturned along the Hatton-Colombo Main Road at about 1.00am today. Police said the lorry had been on its way from Welimada to Colombo when the incident occurred.
The accident blocked traffic along the Hatton-Colombo road for several hours.
No one was injured in the incident. Police added that the driver had been momentarily blinded by headlights from a vehicle coming from the opposite direction, forcing him to lose control of the vehicle. (PCK)
