The Lotus Road in Colombo has been closed off due to a protest which is currently underway.
The protest has been organized by a group of unemployed graduates.
At present, heavy traffic has been reported at the Lake House Rounadbout and its surrounding areas as well.
Police fired teargas and water canons to disperse the group of protesters.
