Most tourists, currently confined to their hotels in Sri Lanka, are likely to depart by March 25
Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) President Mahen Kariyawasam, speaking from the 24-hour help centre established by the government and the industry, said that most tourists were likely to depart by March 25.
He noted that tourists were facing issues of transportation as most taxi drivers were overcome with a fear psychosis of taking tourists in their vehicles and in obtaining curfew passes from the police.
In this respect, the Sri Lanka Tourist Guide Lecturers’ Association members have come forward to assist the stranded tourists with curfew passes issued by the police and transport tourists to the airport for departure. (SD)
