An individual has died after being hit by a train in Puliyankulam, Vavuniya today (Oct 24).
Police said the 'Sri Devi' train had been plying towards Colombo from Jaffna at the time of the accident.
The victim has been identified as a 46-year old resident of Parasankulam. His remains have been placed under police protection at the scene of the incident.
Further investigations are underway.
