An individual who was on his way to collect timber has reportedly died in a landmine explosion in Kilali area in Jaffna, the police reported.
An investigation to find his whereabouts was launched following a complaint lodged by a member of his family stating that the person had been missing.
The investigating teams later found his body in an area where the demining was yet to be concluded. His remains lie at the Jaffna hospital pending a post-mortem.
