In a bid to prevent the propagation of hate speeches , Muslim Religious Affairs Minister MH Abdul Haleem has instructed all mosques to submit audio recordings of all Jummah (Friday congregational prayer) sermons to the Muslim Religious And Cultural Affairs Department.
Issuing a letter to the Trustees of all mosques, Minister Haleem cautioned that the Board of Trustees will be held fully responsible if hatred or extremism is promoted by any means during a gathering at mosques.
The Board of Trustees are fully responsible for the administration and management of their respective mosques, the letter said.
Further, the Minister urged these officials to extend their fullest support to the security forces and the Police in its measures to eliminate terrorism from the country.
Mr. Haleem also called on the Trustees to invite the clergy and religious dignitaries of other faiths to visit the mosque and "address gatherings with messages of peace and harmony".
