The Colombo Chief Magistrate today dismissed a case that implicated former Minister Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman over misusing a Presidential Secretariat bullet proof armed vehicle worth Rs.90 million.
When the case filed by Financial Crimes Investigation Division’s (FCID) was taken up for hearing today, the court was told that legal opinion from Attorney General (AG) department has been sought on this regard.
Earlier FCID alleged that Mr Muralitharan failed to return the vehicle to Presidential Secretariat after new government took office violating provisions in Public Property Act.
