Twenty three (23) remand prisoners who were at the Bogambara prison quarantine centre have been tested positive for COVID 19, a senior prison official said.
Previously two prison officers and seven inmates in Bogambara prison were found positive through PCR tests and sent to Teldeniya COVID treatment centre.
Over 70 COVID positive Welikada prison inmates are presently being treated at the Welikanda COVID treatment centre in Polonnaruwa.
