UNP parliamentarian Chaminda Wijesiri who is suspected of being involved in an assault on a police constable is reported to have fled the Bandarawela area, police said.
Accordingly, the Parliament Police has been informed to arrest MP Wijesiri in connection with the incident.
The assault had taken place opposite the Bandarawela police station.
Meanwhile, police officers had search the residence and the office of the suspect in a bid to arrest him.
