United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa arrived at the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) today to record a statement.
Earlier he was summoned to the CCD over an incident where a threat phone call made to the former Air Force Commander Harsha Abeywickrama by a person claiming he was Namal Rajapaksa. Previous investigations on the fake call revealed that the person was an impostor.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
