Navy arrests five Indians with 120kg of Ganja

Five Indian nationals who were attempting to smuggle 120 kilograms of Kerala Ganja into the country by boat were arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (4). 

The Navy said the detection was made by naval patrol craft deployed West of Silavathurai and Mullikulam area in the Northwestern Naval Command. 

By the time the arrests were made, the boat was heading towards Silavathurai and the navy suspects that this consignment has been brought from India. The five persons along with the ganja will be handed over to the Kalpitiya Police for further investigations, the navy added.
