NBRO urges to reduce firecrackers for New Year owing to air pollution
The National Building Research Organization (NBRO), taking into consideration the current air pollution levels, has urged the reduction of lighting firecrackers for the New Year.
Senior NBRO Scientist Sarath Premasiri said a growing trend has been observed in the country’s air pollution levels especially in the evenings.
Accordingly, Premasiri urged those with respiratory diseases, the elderly, and young children to remain cautious of this situation.
